Abstract

In order to meet the demands of the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry for decreasing emulsion droplet sizes, new dispersing units are consistently developed. To obtain optimal results, thus the smallest possible droplet diameter and a narrow droplet size distribution at smallest possible energy input, the geometric parameters of a new dispersing unit have to be coordinated and calibrated. In the following paper, the effect of particular geometric parameters of a newly developed dispersing unit on the homogenization result are investigated and discussed.
