Abstract
In a study of 37 cases, 34 of which were clinically tuberculous, 30 viruses were isolated. Of these 27 corresponded in their virulence for rabbits and growth on artificial media with the human type of bacillus, and three with the bovine type. Infection with the bovine type of bacillus is responsible for an appreciable number of cases of human tuberculosis in Ireland, as in other countries.
