Abstract
Using the R-matrix Floquet approach and the time dependent R-matrix approach, we investigate two-photon ionisation of Ne+ in its ground state 1s22s22p5 2Po, irradiated by laser light with intensity 1014 W cm−2. We show that the atomic structure has a huge influence on the ionisation rates as excitations from the 2s shell strongly affect the photo-ionisation process.
