Abstract

It is shown that a measurement of the degree of polarisation of photoelectrons ejected from unpolarised atoms by circularly polarised light enables one to identify autoionisation resonances in atoms with one l>O outer electron. In some cases the measurement of the angular asymmetry parameter beta can serve for the same purposes. As an example the results of calculations for Al and Tl atoms are presented.
