Abstract
This paper discusses the name ktf'r = Katfar read by E. Rtveladze on an early mediaeval bronze coin published by him. Such a reading is not acceptable. The present author reads this name as kwδpar = Kawadpar/Kawadfar(r) and asserts that the ellipsised form of this name could be Kaadfar/Kadfar. Hence it is close to Gatfar, a Hephtalite king mentioned by Firdawsī.
