Abstract

The behaviour of spin-1/2 particles in the de Sitter spacetime is studied. Exact solutions of the corresponding wave equations are obtained and used to calculate the absorption probability at the de Sitter horizon. This probability is found to be unity irrespective of the particle characteristics. This is at variance with some authors' statements that the thermal flux of massless spin-1/2 particles in the de Sitter spacetime is zero.
