On the generator-coordinate-method kernels for breathing-mode calculations

Abstract

Presents a theorem concerning the generator-coordinate-method kernels that occur in breathing-mode calculations. They can be derived from an ordinary shell-model matrix element by a simple substitution. The method treats the centre of mass correctly. Applications to 16O and 40Ca are discussed.
