Abstract

The oxygen abundance distribution of G-dwarf in the solar cylinder is obtained using the G-dwarf data of Pagel B. E. J. and Petchett B. E. (1975, Mon. Not. R. Astr. Soc., 233) as local normalization ant two different types of models of the local, vertical structure of the galactic disc. One is the model of Norris J. E. and Ryan S. G. (1989, Astrophys. J., 340) and the other is obtained using the Polak-Ribiere method to fit the data of Kuijken K. and Gilmore G. (1989, Mon. Not. R. Astr. Soc., 239). The results are compared to simple, chemical evolution models characterized by an exponentially decreasing infall rate, simple star-formation laws and no radial flows. Infall time-scale are deduced from the comparision for the two sets of models.
