Abstract

Systems with input delays can be observed in physic, engineering based applications. The scientific commu-nity has explored state space systems with input delays, while generalized state space systems has received little attention. Here, we focus on the discretization of such systems by using the first order hold method. We also provide the solution of a continuous time, generalized state space system with input delay, and further transform a continuous linear system into an equivalent discrete time system, which is also analytically presented, by applying the appropriate first order hold sam-pling method. Finally, we use a local error metric to estimate the difference between the continuous time and discrete time solutions.
