Abstract

Several derivatives of bis-6,7-dimethoxyisoquinoline were tested for their action on the fibrinolytic system in vitro and in vivo. They were effective only in vivo. An increase in fibrinolytic activity in the euglobulin fraction and in diluted rat blood was seen. The activation of fibrinolysis by release of plasminogen activators from the vessel wall is discussed.
