Abstract

A rigorous proof is given of the existence of the photon zero-mass limit in renormalized QED in Euclidean space, with nonexceptional external momenta, of the electron and photon self-energy graphs and the vertex part. The photon propagator is written in the Feynman gauge and the subtractions of renormalization are carried out about the origin in momentum space directly on the Feynman integrands. A key point in the existence of this limit is that QED does not contain proper and connected graphs composed solely of photon lines.
