Abstract

The writer suggests one method, by which the problem of pitch trouble from the green pine wood, may be somewhat solved.Its principle is on the ground that by the utilization of surface activity of lignosulphonic acids upon fats and resins in pulp, the pitches are washed away as colloidal dispersoid. For a practical process, the waste liquor as much twice as pulp is available, remaining ph=4∼5 during operation and it is claimed this may be more effective than milk of lime process. But he is of the opinion that there must, hereafter, study about pulp yield, life of wire and felt, etc.
