Abstract
Abstract A decoupling scheme is presented for the evaluation of generalized susceptibilities of a periodic array of rare earth ions. This decoupling is exact in the limit of infinite intra-atomic Coulomb repulsion U of the 4f electrons and to order V 4 of their hybridization energy with conduction electrons. As an example the current-current correlation function and the resulting electrical conductivity are evaluated.
