On the eigensystems of the Stokes operator discretized by the Q1-P0 finite element method

Abstract

The use of mixed finite element methods in discretizing the Stokes equations leads to systems involving the so-called pressure matrix. Some new spectral properties of this important matrix are here presented for the Q1-P0 element. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
