Abstract

We consider the question as to how precise the localization of invariant compact sets of a time-invariant system by the functional localization method can be in principle. We show that the union of all invariant compact sets can be dramatically different from the intersection of all localizing sets obtained by the functional method. A class of systems for which these two coincide is singled out.
