Abstract
The effective mass distribution of secondary particles is calculated for diffraction dissociation processes using the model suggested by Good and Walker 1). As an application the mass distribution expected for the reaction π −+N→ π −+ π + π −+N in emulsion at 17.2 GeV is plotted.
