Abstract
In this report the effects of SO 2- and CO 2-enriched atmosphere, compared to an atmosphere only enriched with CO 2, on cement mortar of different qualities were examined. The CO 2- and SO 2-concentrations chosen were about 10 times (CO 2) and 1000 times (SO 2) higher than the concentrations of harmful gases measured in polluted urban or industrial atmospheres in the Federal Republic of Germany. These exemplary investigations perhaps simulate special cases such as chimneys, filter plants or coking plants which are exposed to high emission rates of SO 2.
