Abstract

The deuteron magnetic resonance spectra of ethene-d 4 sorbed in the zeolite NaY at one molecule/supercage loading level were measured at temperatures between 290 and 78 K. From the solid-state patterns at low and the isotropically averaged singlet spectra at high temperatures, the correlation times of the anisotropic rotation around the twofold symmetry axis normal to the molecular plane as well as of the isotropic site-exchange motion are deduced. The intracrystalline diffusion coefficient is derived as D/ m 2 s −1 = 3.4 · 10 −7 exp( −2000 T K −1 ).
