Abstract

A solution of Culmann's scheme is proposed for determining active and passive earth pressures on retaining walls. It is shown that the active and passive earth pressure coefficients obtained in the solution are different from those given in SP 22.13302011. It is proposed that the results of the solution be used in practical calculations of the active and passive earth pressure on retaining walls.
