Abstract

The influence of the electric form factor of the netron G En on the polarization transfer in d( e , e′ n)p using longitudinally polarized electrons has been studied. For quasi-free kinematics, i.e., neutron emission along the momentum transfer q , the neutron polarization component P x in the scattering plane but perpendicular to the neutron momentum is essentially directly proportional to G En and independent from final state interaction, meson exchange currents and isobar configurations. About 13 percent polarization is found for q 2=12−20 fm −2 .
