Abstract

Boundary collocation is a method for obtaining approximate solutions of boundary problems for linear partial differential equations, for which complete families of particular solutions are explicitly known. The method contains various decisions which are important for its performance, such as choice of solution subspace, choice of basis for the subspace, and choice of collocation points. Using a model problem, some particular strategies for the determination of collocation points are investigated.
