Abstract

Modem educational processes at high technical/technological schools and universities can include robotics not only as an industrial one, but using some very cheap components available in the market. In this paper, the author presented his experience in cooperation with students on a high level educational process (6th–7th semester) when a student performs his first and second engineering projects. Process of planning and building of robot systems and some selected results for the use in educational process is presented in the paper. With that aim, the entire design of the hardware (mechanical and electronic) and software for designed robot mechanism was built. In real models, the plastic and composite materials were used. In control systems, very cheap PlC controllers and low cost PC based computers have been applied.
