Abstract

Manned cabin is the most important component of the human occupied vehicle (HOV). Its safety will directly lead to the normal operation of the submersible and crew's life. The structural optimal design of manned cabin also results from its design standard which directly depends on the hull material and its manufacture. Based on its maximum pressure load of the full ocean depth (FOD), the ultra high strength steel — nickel maraging steel is confirmed that it is a good choice for fabricating the FOD manned cabin. And then essential analysis about the existing rule design methods will be shown in details. By comparison among rule design methods and material properties of ultra high strength steel, the design standard for FOD manned cabin will be presented out based on our preliminary study. Finally depending upon provided standard, the structural analysis of FOD manned cabin has been shown out.
