Abstract

Two effects are considered to influence the time dependence of the transformed volume in a binary alloy: a) the impingement effect (IE), takes into account the mutual impingement of the growing particles and b) the impoverishment effect (PE), which considers the decrease of driving forces and the increase of the diffusion paths in the approximation of an impoverishing matrix. Combining both effects growth equations are obtained analogous toJohnson-Mehl-Avrami only for one-dimensional growth.
