Abstract

So far we have considered the first part of Galilei’s law. This law furthermore states that a material point left to itself moves not only along a straight line, but also that it moves with a constant velocity, that is, in equal intervals of time it covers the same distances. To understand these words, we must first know what ‘equal intervals of time’ means. In other words, we must know how to evaluate and measure the temporal segments.
