Abstract

For the trial construction of a Littrow type infrared spectrometer, the radius of curvature of slit image must be calculated.Author could not find out the papers on this problem except the Kayser's.In this paper the form of slit image and its radius of curvature were decided, and the relation between the length of slit and the radius of curvature was discussed.Radius of curvature is written in the following expression.ρ=-n (f+Z0) / (n2-1) sinφ·cosi2cosi4cosr1cosr3/cosr1cosi2+cosi3cosr4where n is refractive index of prism material at the wave length λ (μ): φ, prism angle;f, focal length of the collimating mirror ; Z, a factor which represents the off-axis of the mirror ; i, r, angles of incidence and reflection.
