Abstract
The crystal structure of syndiotactic poly(1-oxo-2-phenyltrimethylene) is presented. The polymer consists of an alternated copolymer of styrene and carbon monoxide with chains having a nearly trans-planar conformation with te glide plane symmetry. The chains are packed in a monoclinic unit cell with axes: a = 15.5 A ̊ , b = 6.15 A ̊ , c = 7.56 A ̊ , β = 105° ; the space group proposed is P2 1/ c.
