Abstract
Announcement of the plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist party of the Soviet Union: The latest plenum of the CPSU Central Committee commenced work on February 17, 1988. The plenum was opened by M. S. Gorbachev, general secretary of the CPSU Central Committee. The question On the Course of Restructuring the Secondary and Higher Education System and the Party's Tasks in Carrying It Out was submitted at the plenum for discussion. A report on this matter was given by E. K Ligachev, member of the Politburo and secretary of the CPSU Central Committee.
