Abstract

Considering the Blandford-Znajek process, we investigated the relation between the black hole spin and the radio loudness of AGN. By assuming that the radio power of AGN jets mainly comes from the energy of black hole spin and adopting the jet-disk coupling picture suggested by Falcke and Biermann (1995), we estimated the maximum radio luminosity of AGN jets. In comparison with the observed data of radio loud sources in PG quasar sample, we proved that radio-loud quasars are such a kind of objects that they not only have very small inclination angles, but also have very rapidly spinning supermassive black holes in their centers.
