Abstract
A well known theorem of Sumihiro states that every normal toric variety can be completed equivariantly. Using Zariski–Riemann spaces, we have generalized this result to the setting of normal toric schemes over valuation rings of rank one. The later generalize in a natural way the notion of toric varieties and give a general framework for the study of toric degenerations.
