On the charge-ordered solution of the degenerate Hubbard model

Abstract

Within the alloy analogy approximation it is shown that in the degenerate Hubbard model with repulsive intra-atomic Coulomb interaction (U>0) the charge-ordered state is possible and in the U to infinity limit becomes equivalent to the antiferromagnetic state. The case of attractive degenerate Hubbard model (U<0) is also briefly discussed.
