Abstract

The interpretation of cold fission as emission of fragments in an analogousway with the spontaneous emission of light fragments (exotic decays) is extended to the very asymmetric thermal neutron fission of 233,235U and 229Th. The experimentally observed charge order in 236U* is reproduced by such a simple interpretation.Predictions for the charge orders in the other two nuclei are made.
