Abstract
Exact and approximate (estimating) transformation indicatrices of plane transverse (longitudinal) waves, which are incident on a crack in the form of a strip and are transformed into longitudinal (transverse) waves, are studied. It is confirmed that during an unrestricted increase in crack size, the transformation coefficients tend to the corresponding limiting values for an infinite free plane boundary. The exact and estimated transformation indicatrices of elastic waves are numerically compared.
