Abstract

The generalized binomial coefficients ( κ λ) are defined by Cλ(I m + R) Cλ(I m) = Σ k=0 l Σ κ ( λ κ ) C κ(R) C κ(I m) , where the C k ( R) are the zonal polynomials of the m × m matrix R. In this paper some simple expressions are derived which allow straightforward calculation of a large number of these coefficients.
