Abstract

Determination of arsenic by densitmetry of mercuric bromide paper in Gutzeit method was investigated. Determination errors were within 10%, as coefficient of variation. In comparison of filter paper holder diameters of 6.5 mm and 10 mm, absorbances corrected to unit area were nearly equal. When uncorrected absorbances were approximately equal, error was small with diameter of 10 mm than 6.5 mm. Effects of zinc amount and bath temperature on coloration were not recognized. Dry lead acetate fibre was excellent in removal of hydrogen sulfide and convenient in handling. Natural scattered light in room did not affect the coloration.
