Abstract

The paper reports and reviews how the authors have endeavoured, how developed, how improved and what the problems are to apply the universal, large size, high speed electronic digital computer system into and in lieu of conventional ship calculation and initial design problems at their shipyard, aiming at releasing their staffs from overloaded works experienced recently.In chapter one are reported how the authors developed and to what extent the application of the computer system reached.In chapter two are reviewed the merits of the computer system item by item showing examples which are experienced by the authors.In chapter three are introduced the characteristics found on the way of developing the mechanization and the problems to be solved.
