Abstract

The 19F rotating-frame spin-lattice relaxation time T1 rho has been measured in a single crystal of pure BaF2 from 540 to 1000K. The process responsible for relaxation is F- self-diffusion. A large anisotropy was found that influences the apparent slopes of T1 rho at temperatures above the minimum.
