Abstract
Two emission spectroscopic methods for measuring plasma temperatures are described: the two-line and normalized intensity methods. The theory of the methods is outlined, and expressions are derived for the error in temperature determinations. Modifications of the twoline method are considered. It is concluded that the normalized intensity method is more accurate and is preferred (D.L.C.)
