Abstract
Considering 2D quasi-static linear-elastic problems the paper examines several methods to compute the stress intensity factor under mixed-mode mechanical loading conditions. Two relatively novel methods based on “equivalent domain integral” are compared with the direct calculation from displacements of nodes of the quarter-point crack tip element and with computation when using hybrid crack tip element. Results of the above-mentioned methods are compared using collocation method with a claimed accuracy of 0.5%.
