Abstract
This paper discusses on the stochastic system representation of handwriting process and its application to on-line signature verification. The stochastic system characterizing the motion in the writing signature can be described by a random impulse response. The random impulse response can be estimated in terms of the horizontal and vertical components of the handwriting motion described as a stochastic process, which are considered as the input and output of the system, respectively. With the random impulse response it is possible to verify whether the signature is genuine or not. Signature verification experiments were conducted to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
