On Sq(Z) variation in the indian region

Abstract

Using three dimensional ionospheric current model given by Onwumechilli (1967) and considering Sq(H) values of October 1975, the parameters of the current model are evaluated separately for normal Sq and the equatorial electrojet in the Indian region. On testing the validity of the model, the estimated ranges in Z at the Indian observatories expected by the model are compared with the observed ranges and the differences are discussed.
