Abstract

An overview of the status of development of some microscopic nuclear models is presented. Special attention is paid to the calculations starting from the effective nucleon-nucleon force, to the angular momentum projection method before variation, to the multiphonon method and to the selfconsistent coordinate method. The success and the limitations of the three last mentioned models are illustrated in the example of 168Er.
