Abstract
After a brief survey of the theories of crystal growth the paper gives some characteristics of the growth of EDT crystals on the basis of the authors' experiments and an explanation from the point of view of various theories. It also deals with questions of growth of crystal caps, with components of the growth rate, the veiling and splitting of growing caps, the influence of impurities, the growth of edges and corners and their stability.
