Abstract

Today, while construction work is becoming more complicated and large-scale, the amount of medium and small-scale work is also greatly increasing and, due to the chronic lack of construction workers, delays in the execution or completion of construction work occur. Moreover, with the shortage of young engineers, each employee must manage several construction sites at one time. Therefore, the construction estimates and budget preparation or paperwork to submit to the governmental agencies are being done at the general work place or at business centres for the concentration of business affairs, and recently the preparation of working drawings is being incorporated by the CAD Centre for efficiency. In such an environment, in order to efficiently manage a great number of construction sites with a small number of management engineers for the improvement of productivity, a means for the co-operation of data processing and manpower, such as using the CIM for the remaining construction site work that used to be the most cumbersome duty, and efforts towards labour-saving are essential.
