Abstract

The perception of a sound event is a very complex process. A sound wave reachingthe concha of external ear is conveyed through the outer ear canal to the eardrum which is connected to the ossicular chain. The spatial motions of malleus, incus and in particular of the stapes are the main input to the liquid-filledinner ear where the receptor cells are located.
