Abstract
Rough Set Theory is a mathematical model for representing uncertainty that can be considered as an extension of the classical set theory. A convenient mathematical model for representing multi-attribute objects is a multiset (mset, for short) or a set with repeating elements. The concepts of rough set theory can be extended to relations, mainly due to the fact that a relation is also a set, i.e., a subset of a Cartesian product. This paper is providing a new dimension to Pawlak’s rough set theory by replacing its universe by multisets. The concept of rough multiset relation is introduced and explores related properties.
