Abstract

Differences in temperature, pH, calcium content, specific conductivity, and food in eight small forest lakes did not account for differences in abundance and size of Holopedium gibberum. Variations in number and size of Holopedium may result from different predation rates caused by differences in fish species composition, fish density, and presence or absence of fish fry.
