Abstract

The paper demonstrates the possibility, in principle, of plastic deformation of bulk metallic Ti- and Zr-based glasses with a fully amorphous structure using a method of severe deformation in a copper shell in Bridgmann’s anvils. The presence in the structure of the crystalline phase inclusions in the form of a pile-up of lamellae leads to embrittlement of metallic glass.
