Abstract

A delayed nonautonomous chemostat model with n species in competition is considered. Under very mild conditions on coefficients and consumption functions for the species, criteria for permanence of all the species, extinction of all or part of them and the survival of a unique species are established. A key ingredient for the analysis is the derivation of a conservation principle.
