The estimation of the parameters of the Bateman-Function is an intrinsically non-linear regression problem which is solved by means of the Gauss-Newton iteration method. In this case the convergence behavior of the method is examined for its practical applicability. In one example the conventional »feathering« method is compared with the Gauss-Newton method.
